Disposition:
Independent to a fault, Gwenhwyfar tries to find solutions and methods by her own hands. This, in turn, can also mean that Gwen is stubborn, very set in her ways, and likely to refuse any sort of help, until the last minute or for her own personal benefit. But it's also a very strong quality of hers to possess. She is innovative, adaptive, and a quick-thinker. Druids, like her guardian, have built their knowledge on memorization and having photographic memories -- historically, druids did not write their knowledge and used oral traditions. As such, Gwen has a great memory and makes a point to be meticulously analyzing details of her surroundings. If there isn't a solution to a problem, Gwen will make one. She's quick on her feet, not at all opposed to doing dirty work, especially if it means protecting herself or others she cares for. And despite any outward appearances, Gwen has a strong sense of justice and compassion.
Socially awkward: Because she is a Nephilim and was raised to be a queen, Gwen was raised to suppress her emotions. This also meant as a child, Gwen didn't have a lot of interaction with her peers and her only company as a child were adults. Because of her teacher's stern upbringing, Gwen can struggle with her own feelings and what they may be, as well as easing in the company of others. At times, Gwen can come off abrasive, even if it's not her intent. There are times Gwen can be very blunt, having no filter to speak of and say what's on her mind and not realize that it might hurt someone. She's actually more anxious than she lets on, coupled with the fact that she struggles from past trauma from her capture by King Melwas. But she is more than capable of adapting to awkward situations, relying on her independence to help her bounce back from situations. And, you know, being raised by a hermit can sometimes make her a little naive and idealistic. Certainly, Gwen is a bit of a romantic and is swooned easily.
Devoted: Raised to be a queen and the keeper of her faith, Gwen is devoted to her causes from the moment she sets her heart on them. She is also very devoted to those she cares for (well, most times) deeply, willing to do anything to bring them happiness and protect them. Contrary to what others think of Gwen's lofty moods, she is fairly loyal. She is also surprisingly religious, very devoted to her faith. But, above all, Gwen has an unblinking devotion to her people, future, and her betrothed. Of course, this goes without saying, Gwen can be rigid, believing fully in her mother and teacher's dictation without questioning it, two people that are equally unbalanced as she is, at times.
Suitability:
Despite being stubborn and struggling with her fair share of emotional baggage, Gwen has grown up in a time where the Roman Empire has pulled out of Briton decades ago and lives in a time where war is constant. She doesn't flinch at violence and will pick up a weapon to defend herself. She has a very strong "survive by any means necessary" mentality. Sometimes, that mentality can be cruel, but if there is ever a need to sacrifice for the "greater good", she'll do it. And being socially stunted aside, Gwenhwyfar was raised to understand politics, adapting, and what she has to do to survive on her own.
Condition upon arrival: Other than a bruise and cut underneath her eye, she's good! Just very distressed and cranky.
Abilities:
Since Gwen was partially raised underneath the druid, Myrddin Wylt and was his understudy, Gwen's strongest ability isn't her otherworldly senses, it's her knowledge of magic in her world. The magic she knows are purely elemental, focusing on water and earth magic, in addition to making wards, potions, and charms. If you want a basic comparison, Gwen could be considered the Support in a JPRG game or literal Druid in a DND campaign. She's not as strong as others like her, but her knowledge of druidic magic makes up for her lack of strength and control.
Like any other half-demons, Gwen has the basic abilities:
Superhuman strength - Self-explanatory, she is stronger than normal humans. But she doesn't know exactly how strong she is, so it can create funny accidents.
Speed - While she is faster than humans, it's nothing like teleporting or vanishing.
Heightened senses - All five of her senses are stronger than a normal humans, particularly her sense of smell. In addition to that, Gwen feel another supernatural being. Distance does affect this, however, and if someone is a reasonable distance, she can't sense them. For simplicity's sake in DWRP, I have toned this back quite a bit and compared to other half-demons, Gwen's heightened sense still has its limits and can be honed in when she's closer to someone.
That, and, I like to double-check with people. More often than not, Gwen holds back on this ability because it will physically tax her and cost more energy.
Endurance - Half demons like her can go a while without sleep, water, food, or rest. They can also fair better in extreme hot or cold, though it's more annoying to put up with.
Regeneration/Faster healing - If Gwen is wounded, she can heal faster. She is also capable of regeneration... though this is something that she doesn't choose to do and losing her right eye is a testament to that. The main reason being that it costs too much energy to regenerate, so more often than not, she chooses to heal.
And as stated above in regards regenerating and how it costs energy, all of these abilities can wear her down which is generally something she'll avoid at all costs. While Gwen possesses supernatural abilities, they also cost a lot of energy for her. Gwen, like other half-demons in her world, have a fast metabolism to compensate for their otherworldly assets. Meaning that, if Gwen relies on these supernatural abilities too much, she is vulnerable to slipping into a Berseker-like state, losing any sense of rationale or humanity. And in order to compensate for the loss of energy, Gwen and other half-demons have to eat and they eat a lot. And while Gwen hasn't ever done it before, that does also include humans. So, even if Gwen has these abilities, she chooses to limit herself to keep her humanity.
